Some companies lead with the numbers.

Thousands of applications. Hundreds of approvals. Hundreds more on the go.

We don’t.

Because none of those numbers tells us anything about your application. Previous approvals have no bearing on your individual case. Your circumstances, your history and your evidence are your own.

When we are working on your file, that is the application that matters. Not the one before it. Not the one after it.

You are never just a number. Full focus on you.

There are some things you only realise you miss once you’re far from home.

The smell of a braai.
Rooibos and rusks.
Biltong.
A potjie on the go.
A cold Castle.
And, somehow, even the unmistakable call of a hadeda.

For South Africans living abroad, home is often carried in the smallest things - the tastes, sounds and traditions that instantly take you back.

This Heritage Day, we’re celebrating South Africans wherever in the world they may be.

And for those whose journey is taking them between South Africa and the rest of tge word, RCV International is here to help make the distance feel a little smaller.

Celebrating South Africa’s heritage, globally. 🇿🇦

A date worth knowing if UK settlement is in your future.

From 26 March 2027, the English language requirement for settlement will increase from B1 to B2 across a number of UK immigration routes.

For people approaching Indefinite Leave to Remain, that makes timing increasingly important.

Your eligibility date, immigration route, English qualification and intended submission date all need to be looked at together - particularly if your settlement application is likely to fall close to March 2027.

This is exactly why we encourage clients not to wait until the final few weeks of their visa before beginning to plan for ILR.

Good immigration planning is rarely about rushing an application.

It is about knowing what is coming next.

One of the biggest misconceptions about immigration is that the process starts when you open the application form.

It doesn’t.

A strong application often starts months earlier - with the right documents being kept, dates being recorded properly, travel being tracked and potential issues being identified before they become problems.

We regularly see how much difference good preparation makes.

Not because every case is complicated.

But because immigration applications leave very little room for assumptions, inconsistencies or last-minute scrambling.

The form may be the final step.

The preparation is where much of the real work happens.

This month, RCV International turns 10. ✨

Ten years in business is one of those milestones that makes you stop for a moment and look back at just how much can change.

RCV began with Robyn, working independently and, for the most part, doing everything herself.

Every enquiry. Every application. Every client call. Every document. Every deadline. Every late night. Every lesson that comes with building a business while simultaneously running it.

For many years, RCV was built one client and one case at a time.

And now, ten years later, the business looks very different.

A new team.
New offices.
A new website.
New systems.

And an entirely new way of approaching the business behind the immigration work.

Bringing the right people into RCV and rebuilding our systems has completely reshaped how we operate. It has allowed us to become more structured, more collaborative and more intentional about the experience we want to create for our clients - while still holding onto the personal service that RCV was built on.

But there is one thing that has remained constant throughout the last decade: our clients.

Every person, family and business who has trusted us with an application, a move, a new beginning or an important chapter of their lives has played a part in the RCV story.

Some have been with us for one application. Others have returned years later, referred their families, introduced their friends or come back for the next stage of their immigration journey.

And we are genuinely grateful for every single one.

Without the people whose names have crossed our desks over the last ten years, RCV simply would not be where it is today.

So this month, we’re celebrating 10 years of RCV International - but more importantly, we’re celebrating everyone who helped us get here.

Ten years down.
And it feels like we’re only just getting started.

Five years.

From a spouse visa, through settlement and finally to British citizenship.

There are some client journeys that we have the privilege of being part of for far longer than a single application.

And when the final approval arrives, it means a little more.

One of our clients recently described her experience with Robyn & RCV International:

“I felt completely reassured and confident that I was in very safe hands.”

She spoke about the professionalism, patience, responsiveness and attention to detail that helped make what could have been an incredibly stressful process feel straightforward.

But what stayed with us most was this:

“You have played an important part in helping me through this life-changing journey.”

That is exactly what immigration work is.

There are applications, documents and deadlines, of course.

But behind every one of them is somebody building the next chapter of their life.

Thank you for trusting us with yours.

The conversation around talent is becoming increasingly global.

Businesses are hiring across borders. Employees are relocating. Founders are expanding into new markets. Families are moving alongside careers.

And immigration increasingly sits somewhere in the middle of all of it.

The difficulty comes when the immigration conversation only starts after the business decision has already been made.

A job offer has been accepted.

A start date has been promised.

A relocation has been planned.

And only then does someone ask, “What visa do we need?”

Good global mobility planning should happen much earlier.

Because immigration isn't simply an administrative step at the end of a move.

Very often, it determines what is possible in the first place.

Before making an offer, setting a start date, or planning a relocation, speak with an immigration professional to understand the available options, timelines, and potential challenges.

One of the most expensive mistakes in international relocation is assuming that preparation begins when you are ready to move.

Usually, it should begin much earlier.

Not because every visa requires years of planning - many do not.

But because the decisions surrounding the visa often do.

A qualification may need to be recognised.
A business structure may need reconsideration.
Children may be approaching an important school year.
Property may need to be sold.
Income may need to meet a particular requirement.
Citizenship eligibility may depend on decisions being made today.

We regularly see the difference between people who begin planning with time on their side and those who begin once a deadline has already appeared.

The first group generally has choices.

The second often has constraints.

So when should you start preparing for an international move?

When the idea becomes credible - not when the suitcase comes out.

You do not necessarily need to act immediately.

But you should know what your future options require of you now.

We tend to talk about migration geographically. South Africa to the UK. London to Dubai. Mauritius to Europe.

But geography is often the least interesting part of the move.

A country change can alter earning potential, tax exposure, schooling, career trajectory, proximity to family, access to markets and even what retirement eventually looks like.

For some, moving abroad is an escape from something.

For others, it is a deliberate move towards something.

And increasingly, the people we speak to are not asking, “Where can I get a visa?”

They are asking better questions.

Where does our family have the strongest future?
Where can the business grow?
Which citizenships or residencies create greater flexibility?
Should we move permanently - or build options across several countries?

That distinction matters.

Because international mobility is no longer simply about relocating from one country to another.

For many people, it is becoming part of how they design their lives.
