Senior DevOps Engineer

DESCRIPTION

Purpose:

Forming part of the DevOps team, this individual’s responsibility will be to design and implement solutions complimentary to, but outside of my client’s core platforms to assist the business in addressing key requirements that serve internal and external stakeholders. On-call / after-hour support as required

The Key responsibility areas:

Be part of and actively contribute to a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team that works together to become a high-performing team in delivering world-class technology solutions
Develop and maintain solutions that monitors and manages infrastructure (virtual or otherwise) that is used by the core and supplementary services
Develop, maintain and monitor internal applications that is used by the rest of the business that enables them to do their work more efficiently.
Develop, maintain and monitor solutions that facilitates CI/CD of applications and solutions developed by other teams
Tutor and mentor juniors team members

REQUIREMENTS

Core Competencies:

Must understand and demonstrate knowledge of:

AWS technologies and services
Ansible
TCP/IP networking
Working knowledge of DNS, SMTP, FTP, HTTP
Linux and Windows operating systems
Shell (BASH) scripting
Working knowledge of MySQL or similar database systems
PHP, Python, Perl or other scripted languages
Experience with monitoring, graphing and logging tools such as Nagios, Icinga, Cacti, Graphite and ELK Stack

We have a relatively young work force - the age of our Developers range from 24 – 38 years of age.

Our feature product is a cloud based transaction processing switch. We also provide specialist software development services & consultancy for bespoke projects to enhance our customers’ existing payments infrastructure.

Project Manager

My Client is a highly successful FinTech company, founded by some of South Africa’s most experienced and innovative payment technologists. The Role
In this role you’ll act as a Project Manager within my clients professional services team, coordinating payments software development and implementation projects. You will have the opportunity to contribute to refining our project processes and procedures. You will be the key point of contact for major customers (large banks and retailers) and will play a critical role in managing on-going relationships with them. The ability to manage clients, control complex projects, and build strong relationships is essential for this position.
This role will also be a great opportunity for an experienced Support Engineer, Software Tester or Software Developer to step into.
