It was inspiring to witness the accuracy, focus, and passion with which they executed each movement, demonstrating not only what they have learned but also the dedication and commitment they bring to every challenge.

As we come to the end of an incredible two weeks of 26 ALPHA Outdoor Programme, we celebrate the growth, courage, and transformation of our students. They showed up beautifully, embracing challenges, engaging deeply in their inner work, and supporting one another throughout the journey.

It was inspiring to witness the powerful reflections, meaningful connections, and beautiful artwork that emerged as students explored their stories, strengths, and aspirations.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who supported this programme. Your dedication, care, and commitment created the conditions for learning, healing, and growth to take place.

We ended with a joyful closing ceremony, honouring the journey, the lessons learned, and the potential that each young person carries forward. We are grateful to have shared this experience together.

Today we celebrate 26 years of excellence in holistic youth development.

"Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone - Chrysalis Academy turns 26 years old.

Twenty-six years ago, a vision was planted: that young people from our communities, regardless of their circumstances, deserve the chance to discover their potential and step into their purpose. Today, that vision stands stronger than ever.

To the Western Cape Government and all our valued partners, thank you. Your unwavering commitment has made this work possible. You have invested not just in a programme, but in the futures of thousands of young South Africans, and in the communities, they return to as changed individuals.

To every recruit who has walked through the doors of this Academy over the past 26 years, you took a leap of faith. You arrived with your unique story, your challenges, and your hopes, and you chose to trust the process. I want you to know that I firmly believe the thousands of you are making a difference in our communities every single day. You are living proof that vulnerability can become a starting point for growth, and that potential, when nurtured, truly becomes purpose.

As we mark this anniversary, we carry forward the words that have always guided us:

Be the Change".

In nature, we find more than beauty — we find healing, growth, and connection. 🌿

The Outdoor Phase at Chrysalis Academy continues to remind us that when young people step away from the noise of daily life and into the mountains, sea,forests, and open spaces, something powerful happens. Through hiking, reflection, teamwork, and moments of stillness, nature becomes a teacher, a safe space, and a place of restoration.

Healing is not always loud. Sometimes it looks like shared laughter around a fire, quiet moments during solo reflection, supporting one another on a steep trail, or simply breathing deeply under open skies.

At Chrysalis Academy, we believe that nature has the power to reconnect young people to themselves, to others, and to hope.
