HOUSEBREAKERS LOCATED ON MOUNTAINSIDE ABOVE BOYES DRIVE - UPPER TOWERS ROAD FOOT PATTOL & BRT MEMBERS MAKE ONE ARREST, TWO SUSPECTS EVADED CAPTURE. SAPS ARREST SECOND SUSPECT LATER IN THE DAY.
Just after 05H30 this morning, we were alerted to a housebreaking in progress, on Mount Road, Muizenberg.
Upon arrival the suspects had fled the scene. Our BRT and other members identified the flight path that the suspects had taken and commenced a follow up operation. Our Teams recovered a knife on the steps leading up to Boyes Drive, and other items that were dropped by the suspects. A few minutes later our Teams heard rustling in the bushes on the mountainside above Boyes Drive and investigated. They arrested a female suspect, who was found in possession of stolen property that had been taken from inside the property that had been broken into. Two other suspects fled higher up the mountain and we were unable to locate them.
Suspect was detained at Muizenberg SAPS on a charge of Housebreaking.
Good follow up work by Sgt Essex of Muizenberg SAPS, resulted in the arrest of a second suspect.
Suspect and accomplices hail from Capricorn.

MOUNTAIN MEN - BICYCLE RESPONSE UNIT ARREST ROBBERY SUSPECT AT 06H55 THIS MORNING IN SUN VALLEY:
While on patrol in Chebec Cres, this morning, our officers heard a person screaming and they hastened to where the screams where emanating from. Our officers saw a person in the process of being attacked and being hit with a brick. Our Team confronted the attacker and subdued him, and established that he was attempting to rob the victim. The suspect was placed under arrest and Fish Hoek SAPS was contacted and they arrived on the scene, soon thereafter.
The suspect was found to be in possessionof a knife, housebreaking impliments, and 8 mandrax tablets. Suspect is a repeat offender, who, according to SAPS, has recently come out of prison.
Suspect has been detained at Fish Hoek SAPS and will appear in court shortly.
The victim, who sustained injuries went to Fish Hoek hospital for treatment and has opened a case of attempted robbery.

Good job Team. Second arrest in 4 days, in the same area. Total of 19 mandrax tablets seized. Drug trafficking is very active in this area.

SUN VALLEY CRIME FIGHTING STRATEGY IS DELIVERING RESULTS: DRUG DEALER CONFRONTED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING - SAPS FISH HOEK DETAINED HIM.
This individual was confronted last Thursday night at 19H39, exiting the wetland area,by our 24 hour BRT patrol. He stated that he was on his way to Masi, after visiting friends in the B13 settlement.
On Saturday morning 28/03/2026, this same person was confronted in the wetland area, by our Team, that was conducting a foot patrol. He attempted to discard items, upon seeing our officers and was confronted. The discarded items were found to be 11 Methaqualone tablets ( Mandrax/ Buttons),large amount of Crystal Methamphetamine (Tik), cash, including US currency and a knife.
Fish Hoek SAPS was notified and they attended the scene. Suspect was detained at Fish Hoek SAPS on a charge of Dealing in Narcotics and Possession of a dangerous Weapon. Fish Hoek CAS 118/03/2026 refers.
The suspect who claims to live in Masi and Ocean View, will appear in Simonstown court on Monday 30/03/2026.
Drug dealing in this part of Sun Valley is prolific and poses a direct threat to the safety and well being of all residents.
This is our 3rd arrest in 27 days of operation in the Sun Valley area.

Our operations manager observed a suspect being pursued by two Law Enforcement Officers, in Alexander Rd, Muizenberg, on Thursday morning 05/02/2026.
Charlien joined the chase, as the suspect attempted to flee from the custody of the two LE Officers. She cut off the suspect on the Axminster Rd side of the footbridge, going over the Vlei. Suspect jumped off the bridge into the Vlei and attempted to flee. After disobeying repeated instructions to stop fleeing, less lethal projectiles were deployed onto the suspect, causing him to surrender and come out of the water, where our Team placed him under arrest and handed him back to the two LE Officers. Suspect had robbed a person earlier that morning, with a sharp edged weapon.
Suspect was detained at Muizenberg SAPS, and will appear in court on Monday - Muizenberg CAS 57/02/2026 refers.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON 11/01/2026 - ZANDVLEI. Thief stole a bicycle from a property in Bromyard rd. Our various units were notified and our observation Team on the mountain above Lakeside picked up the suspect with the stolen bicycle, heading along the railway line towards Steenberg station. Our armed response and BRT members intercepted the suspect, who attempted to flee, but was arrested and the bicycle recovered.
Suspect who gave his address in Delft, was detained at Muizenberg SAPS, and the owner opened a case of theft, and took possession of his property.
