Junior Sous Chef | 4-Star Conference Hotel | Cape Town
Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join a well-established 4-star conference hotel in Cape Town.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and driven chef to step into a leadership role within a busy hotel kitchen, working across banqueting, conferencing, and à la carte service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist with menu preparation, food production, and service delivery
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health, and safety
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimizing waste
- Step into a leadership role during service and when senior chefs are off duty
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a hotel or busy restaurant environment
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including banqueting and conferencing
- Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Well-organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure
- Passion for food, presentation, and guest satisfaction
- Own transport advantageous
