EQ8 Crew – Closure of Operations (December 2025)

The shareholders of EQ8 Crew wish to inform our maritime community that the company has formally closed its operations.

Over the past several months, EQ8 Crew has been unable to trade due to unresolved regulatory delays at the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). Despite repeated correspondence and meetings, we were not provided with a finalised written resolution required to operate.

During the same period, the arrest of the SA Agulhas resulted in unpaid invoices owed to EQ8 Crew. This, combined with the prolonged regulatory delays, has made it impossible to continue.

It has been a privilege to support South African seafarers, and we are proud of the work we achieved while operating.

For those seeking shore-based opportunities, our sister company EQ8 Recruit continues to provide global recruitment across the maritime and related industries. You are welcome to follow EQ8 Recruit on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter for updates.

We’re recruiting for:
✔️ Chief Officer, 2nd Master, Chief & 2nd Engineers
✔️ Bosun, Able Seafarer Deck, Oiler & Fitter (with ER watch cert)
✔️ Paid in USD | Rotations: 8–12 weeks
✔️ Seagoing roles for experienced offshore crew
We’re ideally looking for South African crew, but will consider other African nationalities with strong, relevant offshore support vessel experience (e.g. AHTS, towing, rig move).
