As our Service Technician, key roles and responsibilities will include:

• Carry out fault finding to ensure that cranes are thoroughly assessed in accordance with stipulated procedures, isolate the problem and take or recommend action to minimise downtime.

• Perform thorough inspections, breakdowns and repairs in a timely manner and in accordance with the service contracts or other requirements

• Ensure that faults and problems requiring repairs are accurately identified during the inspection.

• Make recommendations on the maintenance required and/or modifications to improve the cranes, and equipments.

• Prepare comprehensive and accurate inspection report in accordance with company report templates ensure that it is signed by customers and other responsible person.

• Ensure that work areas are properly assessed and work is performed in accordance with accepted safety procedures.

• Gathers customer input on matters ranging from product design, operation, maintenance, warranty performance, and safety.

The candidate will have to work with equipment associated with soil and groundwater impact assessment such as: Cable avoidance detection tools, photoionization detectors, tools for collection of soil, water and air samples, multimeters, and various types of pumps.

The work will consist in conducting regular inventory of the disposables available in the storeroom and order enough to cover the work planned for the coming months.

Conduct regular H&S audits of the storeroom and maintain it clean and in order.

The equipment needs regular calibration and maintenance, the candidate will have to keep track of the calibration status and make sure this is kept up to date while keeping enough equipment available for the work that the teams are performing at the same time (avoid sending all piece of equipment for maintenance at the same time).

The candidate will also have to learn how to use the equipment and how they work and be able to conduct small maintenance and repair work when needed.
