…arising from the need to create a new category of employment for the thousands of men without the hope of feeding their families apart from work as a piece laborer, the idea of a Steward Academy was born. uth Africa where our men eschew the idea of domestic work as designated only for women. We have secured property with perfect accommodation and training facilities, which combined with a passion for excellence and the ability to place all trained Stewards, Housekeepers and Domestic Workers in gainful, dignified employment. All training is given with the goal of not only gaining but maintaining employment; improving skills and remuneration whilst working. Our immediate need is to provide training to household staff in order to urgently get them earning, every opportunity presented by the college will be explored and exploited, not only providing training but actively facilitating the concomitant employment. Our current business model has proved resilient in this Covid ravaged economy. After all the cleaning never stops. It is our intention to emerge post Covid with ongoing training for workforce that can not only make a difference in the lives of the employees and their families, but in those of their employers too.
