A pleasure to host colleagues from across the OSCE area - from Bishkek and Ukraine to regional field operations to help strengthen our dialogue facilitation capacity.

Grateful to the OSCE Mediation Support Team (MST) and for supporting this week’s programme. I am proud that, with MST support, our Mission has trained 30 colleagues in dialogue and mediation skills and established an internal roster of facilitators.”

⚖️Strengthening consistency in judicial and prosecutorial practice is essential for ensuring legal certainty, equality before the law, and public trust in justice institutions.

Today, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo brought together senior representatives of the judiciary and prosecution to discuss practical ways to further harmonize judicial and prosecutorial practice across Kosovo.

OSCE Head of Mission Ambassador Gerard McGurk joined Supreme Court President Fejzullah Rexhepi and Acting Kosovo Chief Prosecutor Agron Qalaj, in emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and co-operation to address common challenges and strengthen a fair, effective, and coherent justice system.

💬“This event builds on a foundation that the OSCE Mission in Kosovo has been laying for years”, said Ambassador McGurk. “Through our trial monitoring work, thematic reports and regular dialogue with justice-sector counterparts, the Mission has long advocated for stronger harmonization of practice, as inconsistencies may affect legal certainty, fair trial guarantees, equality before the law and public confidence in the justice system.”

🤝The OSCE Mission remains committed to supporting Kosovo’s justice institutions in advancing the rule of law and strengthening public confidence in the justice system.
