[𝐐&𝐀] 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧?
Only you can answer that. How much do you know about life in a small town? Like anything, it will have pros and cons. People know everyone's business in a small town, which can be stifling. But small towns can also be wonderful communities.
How far away from friends and family will you be and will that bother you? It can take time for a stranger to be accepted in tight knit communities— are you happy to be on your own while they're getting used to you and vice versa?
How comfortable are you with initiating contact and conversation? As the newcomer it might be up to you to make overtures to people.
Can you access all your favourite materials and resources in the small town that you do in the city? And if not, are you okay with that? Can you function without your preferred brand of cereal or coffee or whatever, or will you die if you can't get your hands on [insert thing you can't live without here]?
Is accommodation easy to find? Is it affordable? If you have a pet are you allowed to take it with you? What teaching resources are available to you there and are they enough? What support is in place for you if it's a difficult school or if you have trouble adjusting?
Do some research about the town to help you decide.
