Training in martial arts and development of skills which can actually be used in combat and self defense should also include physical conditioning. Being stronger, faster, more flexible and in better condition helps when fighting for real, and also has benefits for your overall health and well-being. Multiple studies conducted by law enforcement and military groups have shown that those who suffer combat injuries and who are in good physical condition have a higher chance of survival and recovery from wounds than do those suffering the same injuries who are in poor physical condition.
