Repetitively lift aluminum extrusions of lengths up to forty feet and weighing up to seventy-five pounds from metal basket carriers to packing conveyor.
Gather all material needed for framing bundles, such as but not limited to: tape, stretch wrap cardboard, paper, banding, etc.
Visually inspect metal while forming bundles looking for burrs, scratches, chips, gouges, dents, bubbles, die lines, etc.
Ensure all pieces meet or exceed customer specifications.
When material is questionable, contact foreman, supervisor or inspector for approval.
Assemble bundles per foreman’s instructions utilizing packing materials to meet customer specifications.
Assist and/or operate cut back saw station and acts as saw helper at the press.
Lift metal from racks and return after cutting.
Ensure all cuts are made to meet customer specifications.
Record appropriate piece count or weigh count daily.
Records time it takes to pack a bundle.
Push baskets on wheels into or out of workstations.
Carry scrap metal to scrap cart.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair and of the Shipping area.
Performs inspection and maintains quality standards.
Completes any other necessary paperwork or documentation.
Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE – Shop Fabricators and Fitters; Shop Fabrication Welder

LOCATION:
York, PA 17403

SHIFT:

1st Shift—6AM-2:30PM | OT Start at 5AM when needed.

** Shifts run Monday-Friday**

OVERTIME: Yes, employees will either come in earlier, example will come in earlier or stay later; Also Saturdays for 1st and 2nd when required.

3 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS CLIENT NEEDS THIS PERSON TO HAVE:

Reliability, Detail oriented, willing to work OT.
Motivated individual, Steady work history, ability to work independently.
Fitting/ fabrication experience, layout expert, Tack Flux core welding, and ability to read and interpret construction drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Structural Steel Fitters/Fabricators responsibilities include they will fit and assemble structural framework, components, and materials such as angle iron, plates, WF sections, and other steel shapes and components.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

Reading and interpreting works to approved documentation such as assembly prints, blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, etc.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications
Safely operate overhead cranes, air arc, grinder and magnetic drill and any other required tools or equipment of the trade
Properly fit mill to bear parts such as stiffeners, base plates, and other components
Operate cutting and heating torches
Accurately perform complex heat corrections
Check camber, sweep tolerances of beams and other steel shapes
Effectively make necessary corrections per pertinent codes and specifications, with no supervision
Will be marking the locations where Welders will be welding steel parts as specified per drawings and marked up weld symbols
Fit parts on columns or beams and tack weld to beam.
Write weld symbols on steel or mark for cuts; Fit and bolt on clip and plates.
Mark the piece when finished and work on next piece.
Tack flux core welding joints, pieces, etc. to hold together prior to being sent to welders.
Assure the structural components are fabricated/ fitted correctly with visual inspection; Ability to maintain consistent cuts, tack welds, measurements.
Perform heat corrections while adhering to procedures with no supervision
Produce finished product that meets recognized standards, codes, and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and practices

REQUIREMENTS

Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to interpret blueprints and construction drawings, precise measuring devices, and geometric tolerances.
Superior level layout and math skills
Complete understanding of pre-heat functions
Ability to set-up and use track torch is required
Must pass all tack test F.A.C.W. (Flux Core);
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating in an effective manner with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
Works in compliance with safety policies and procedures
Must be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Be able to frequently lift and/or move items up to 20lbs; Sometimes up to 50lbs, and occasionally with assistance up to 70lbs.
Be able to stand, walk, lift, etc. to complete necessary jobs/ tasks will be on feet for duration of shift.
Be able to perform specific tasks that involve bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling, as needed.
