***LOAN COUNSELORS NEEDED***

Hi, All- I am a national Project Manager with Robert Half Staffing and right now we have a role with NACA for Loan Counselors at offices in various cities across the US.

NACA fights economic injustice by empowering low-income families to purchase homes. As activists, they rally against major lenders to lower interest rates and combat practices that exploit disadvantaged Americans. They strive for economic justice, especially for low to moderate income families and people of color, by addressing racial wealth disparities and other issues. DETAILS
Contract Role? Or Permanent Hire?: This is a Temp to Hire Assignment. If you successfully complete the training (approx 4 mos.) then you will be converted to full time with NACA.
Remote or On Site: 100% On Site
Start Date: 8/31/2024 (training classes begin every 2 weeks)
Location: VARIOUS CITIES ACROSS THE US

Pay: Base pay + Bonus and Commission Pay (Average is $65,000 - $150,000) See compensation structure below.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Counselor manages a pipeline of Member files assigned to her/him and provides comprehensive, individual housing and financial management counseling services in a local office or by video conferencing.
The Counselor helps Members overcome the roadblocks that prevent them from qualifying for a mortgage loan and purchasing a home.
The Counselor also works with Members to address and improve their financial management skills.
The Counselor utilizes problem solving skills and financial management guidance to help Members achieve affordable homeownership always maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor while providing outstanding customer services. She/he must be able to work independently with Members and in coordination with other departments.
The Counselor must manage their time effectively to provide accurate, comprehensive counseling sessions within specified time limits.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED
High School graduate or equivalency – Required.
MUST be good at financial math (assessment must be passed).
MUST be interested in learning the mortgage loan industry.
MUST be willing to take the HUD and MLO tests.
MUST believe in NACA's mission and have a heart for helping others.
LOAN or COUNSELING experience is not required, but is a plus.

SCHEDULE/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Counselors work approximately 45 to 50+ hours weekly, adapting to job demands. Regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays, with occasional late nights and two Saturdays monthly for workshops. Additional hours may be required for campaigns and events. Attendance and punctuality are essential for team accountability.
Counselors operate from a local office for optimal support, with hybrid schedules possible post-training. To qualify for a hybrid schedule, Counselors must display effective pipeline management, productivity, and superior customer service.

TRAINING SCHEDULE
First 7 weeks of training (classroom): 9:00am to 6:30pm EASTERN TIME
Weeks 8-12 (hands on training): 9:00am to 6:30pm LOCAL TIME

COMPENSATION
The Counselor's compensation package includes Base Pay, Overtime, Performance Pay, and a Monthly Bonus. The organization prohibits any form of charging members for services, adding products to loans, or receiving referral fees to boost compensation.
Your recruiter will provide a detailed explanation of the compensation system. Counselors have the potential to earn between $65,000 to $150,000 annually, with Performance Pay being a significant component. Base Pay covers training, outreach, and advocacy efforts and is not intended to be the primary source of compensation. Counselors meeting minimum requirements can expect to make a minimum salary of $65,000 per year, with multiple opportunities for higher earnings. Base Pay is set at approx. $40,000/year, equivalent to $15.00 per hour or the state-mandated minimum wage (whichever is higher), which includes the required overtime of approx 1-5 hours per week. Counselors make $5.00 additional an hour when working events.

Job Overview:
Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of a specific project. Project managers may work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule as well as other departments for support.

• 5+ years of project management experience preferably in a financial institution
• Advanced skills in Excel tools, including VBA/Macros preferred
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with strong attention to details
• Ability to listen effectively and credibly present ideas
• Ability to summarize large amounts of complex data to include in presentations to senior management
• Ability to create concise communication materials and present findings to senior management
• Strong interpersonal leadership, partnership and influencing skills with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels
• Strong project management skills with solid time management, organizational, planning and follow up skills
• Sound business acumen, good understanding of operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to effectively facilitate problem resolution
• Outstanding organizational and business skills and the ability to deal successfully with complex issues, multiple projects and short deadlines
• Flexible, with ability to work under minimum direction and use independent judgment in decision-making
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
