Auto Equipment Installation Technician

Savvy Staffing Solutions is urgently hiring Auto Equipment Installation Technicians in Auburn, MA.

Hours:
• 4 ½ Day 45 hr work schedule
• Mon-Thurs 7am – 5pm
• Friday 7am-2:30 pm
• Additional overtime available

Primarily responsible for installing electrical components and equipment into vehicles according to our design engineer’s documentation, manufacturer’s specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have a great attitude, mechanical aptitude and some knowledge of 12 Volt automotive electrical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install new and used accessories in vehicles according to order specifications
• Program lighting control systems
• Follow written instructions and record work completed in accordance with company standard operating procedure
• Perform electronic troubleshooting
• Install fuses, 12 Volt wiring harnesses, and power distribution sources as required

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma preferred
• Experience working with 12 Volt electrical systems
• Experience working with 120 Volt electrical systems a plus, but not required
• Experience with basic hand and power tools (crimpers, st*****rs, cutters, mini-torch, and drill)
• Prior experience with installing vehicle accessories a plus
• Ability to read written instructions in English
• Ability to visually distinguish colors
• Basic computer skills required
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Previous up-fitter experience a huge plus.
• Detail oriented, organized, responsive and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Applicant must have their own basic tool set and tool box/cart
• Ability to frequently lift, move, and/or carry up to a maximum of 50 pounds by hand
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, crouch, kneel, reach and work in confined spaces
• Valid Driver’s License preferred

Job Description

• Uses a forklift to load, unload and transport materials, goods, and equipment between destinations.
• Receive and select parts. Locate materials in the warehouse and transport either to storeroom, assembly or shipping.
• Operate material handling equipment. This includes ride-on fork trucks and walk-behinds forklifts.
• Depending on Department worked in, may be trained on using ERP computer system to process orders using several system transactions including Picking/Issuing MO’s, Receiving MO’s and PO’s….etc.
• Cycle counts parts to maintain inventory accuracy in storerooms.

Requirements

• 0-2+ years of experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend English and use general math
• Ability to be licensed to operate fork trucks and other material handling equipment.
• Knowledge of, or prior experience with data entry
• Ability to use necessary hand tools and proper PPE where applicable….. ie retractable razor, hammer, prybar, gloves…..etc.
• Most work is done within a factory setting.
• Repetitive work which requires frequent bending and lifting. Operate hoist to lift larger objects.
• Frequently lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
