ANNOUNCEMENT: SALMON RELEASE PARTY AT OSP!!

OSP will have a very special opportunity for the visitors who are signed up for the Winter Holiday Cultural Party on Saturday, December 17, 2022. The salmon being raised in the visiting room are ready to be released into their new home, Mill Creek, on the grounds of the Penitentiary! We would like our visiting children to help send them to their new home! Party attendees may participate after the morning session or prior the afternoon session of the Holiday event.

What: Salmon Release Party
Who: Limited to those pre-scheduled to attend the Holiday Event
When: December 17, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (demonstrations will start at 10:30)
Where: Across from the walkway as you head into the main building of OSP

Children will be able to engage in:
Naming a fish- (which will later be displayed in the visiting room)
Demonstrations – fish dissection and macroinvertebrates
Coloring paper ornaments
Prizes
And don’t forget the fish facts!

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work full time (36 hours) within the local Island County Jail in a Charge Nurse capacity.

This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned nurse interested in supporting and implementing programs within the jail for the betterment of patient care.

Position Details:
Dayshift, Wed/Thurs/Fri and occasional weekends
Hiring Immediately!
Paid Clinical Orientations

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Support in the oversight of (2-3) nurses
Act as the liaison between nursing team and provider (both on and off site)
Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the facility
Must be able to work in a correctional facility environment and treat inmates with respect
Assist with medication administration (3 times total per day)
Appropriately monitor & document progression of care

Licensure/Education:
5 years (minimum) required as a licensed Registered Nurse
Locked Unit Psychiatric, Behavioral Health, or Corrections experience highly valued
Detox & Triage experience preferred
Current unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse License
BSN preferred

Employment Qualifications:
Current BLS Certification
Ability to obtain current Tuberculosis Test and Drug Screen prior to employment
Reliable transportation to all scheduled shifts
