Skills: Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required
Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification is required! BLS.
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: CPI. Charge nurse experience.
JOB DETAILS: will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients
Target Ratios: 1:6-7
Shift: nights; 36 hours only: 8- 26 weeks accepted!!
RTO: 7 days MAX
Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding. Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
Weekend Requirement: *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
** Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.
**Contract staff may be required to care for patients with COVID.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.
General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection. DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.

Traveler will be assigned to a Inclement Weather Team.
Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled.
During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher. Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse
Attendance to monthly staff meetings.
Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
