Bright Futures Frederick/Winchester

Bright Futures Frederick/Winchester A non-profit dedicated to bringing our community together to focus on the success of children.

Bright Futures provides a path for communities to engage everyone in a collective movement to develop relationships and channel resources supporting education and enabling children to achieve success. Bright Futures-Frederick/Winchester works within Frederick County and Winchester City Public Schools to connect student needs with existing community resources. The Bright Futures model brings togeth

er businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations, and parent groups and partners them with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students’ basic needs – often within 24 hours. This enables students and teachers to focus on education and achieving success. Bright Futures-Frederick/Winchester works to create an environment where education is valued and responsibility for student success is shared. Bright Futures operates under the belief that when a community invests its time, talent, and treasure into its schools, students are more likely to stay in school through graduation, have a higher degree of self-worth and confidence, and set and reach goals for the future. In turn, these students grow up to be better neighbors, quality employees, and leaders in their communities. Frederick County Public Schools Social Media Terms and Conditions

The purpose of the Frederick County Public Schools (“FCPS”) official social media platforms is to provide information about our schools and public education generally in a timely and efficient manner. Continued or egregious violations may prompt FCPS to further restrict an individual’s commenting on official FCPS social media platforms. FCPS will not remove content simply because it disagrees with the user’s viewpoint or the user criticizes FCPS. Comment Removal Procedure
The FCPS social media platforms are administered by designated staff. The delivery truck wheels go round and round! Back to school time is a wild ride for Bright Futures! Our team has filled and delivered 209 classroom/clinic requests since Stuff the Bus on August 1st! We have delivered items for 393 students as well, including backpacks, clothing, emergency food/hygiene items -all in that same timeframe. This work is only possible because our community continues to show up to support our students! Thank you so much to the donors and volunteers who have made this incredible back to school initiative possible!

What’s next? Our in-school food pantries need our support! Consider donating prepackaged snacks and kid-friendly food items if you can!

Last year, we received a huge donation of paper and paint. This generous donation served teachers, students, and staff across our entire area - it even allowed us the opportunity to pay it forward with our community partners at The YDC. We were delighted to see the impact when we received this update from their team over a year later:

"Over the past year, we’ve welcomed 20 kids each Saturday, giving them a space to create, experiment, and build community. It’s been really special to watch their creativity and confidence grow."

Check out these amazing photos of community students and their art!
