Call Out for May 21, 2026

Good afternoon, Elmore County! This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools. The 2025 – 2026 School Year is officially in the books for students and tomorrow faculties and staffs will finish as well.

Congratulations to HHS senior, Lillian McCord for placing first in the FTA “Grow Our Own” initiative. She was recognized for her award by Dr. Eric Mackey, State Superintendent, at the May Alabama Department of Education State Board Meeting.

SEHS Sponsorship Program is hosting "Summer Fun Fest" May 23, 2026 at 17 Springs to support the SEHS Bowling team as compete at the National High School Bowling Championship June 19 - 22. The community is invited to help support the students in their athletic endeavors. This season has been an exciting journey with both Girls and Boys Teams making the Regionals and State tournaments and the Boys bringing home the 2026 State Championship. With the help and support of family and community partners, our bowlers now look forward to making their mark at Nationals in June.

Kindergarten through 5th grade Summer Literacy and Numeracy Camps will begin June 1st at 7:30 AM at each elementary campus for students invited to attend. Please reach out to your school if you need further details. Summer school for middle and high school students starts Tuesday, May 26th from 7:30-1, Monday through Thursday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Students can register at their school on Tuesday. The cost is $250 per course.

Elmore County Schools will offer FREE bulk meals this summer to children and teens 18 and under! Parents/ guardians must register for a ticket to pick up their child’s meals. The ticket will be required at pickup. The ticket system opens the day after each distribution for the upcoming pickup.
