Good afternoon, Elmore County! This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools. Parents just a reminder that report cards were sent out yesterday for all middle and high school students through ParentSquare and elementary students received paper copies. Next Tuesday all 9th,11th, and 12th grade students will observe an e-Learning Day as all 10th grade students take the Pre ACT on campus. Tenth grade families join us this Monday, October 19th at 6:00PM at the PTC on 399 W. Osceola Street in Wetumpka- The old WHS cafeteria- to learn about the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme coming to Elmore County next fall! Please RSVP on The EDGE website under the International Baccalaureate tab.There is a lot to celebrate across Elmore County Schools this week! Our students continue to shine in athletics, and tonight, all four high school football teams will be on the road. ECHS is traveling to Beauregard, HHS takes on Charles Henderson at Veterans Memorial Stadium, SEHS makes the short trip to Cramton Bowl to play Park Crossing, and WHS travels to Pike Road. We also congratulate ECHS’s Volleyball on its 17th straight Area Championship and Stanhope Elmore Volleyball on its first Area Tournament championship since 2018. Both teams will host Subregional competition on Monday, while Wetumpka travels to Pike Road. Flag football action continues next week across all four high schools, and our cross-country teams will compete tomorrow at the Montgomery Academy Invitational at AUM.The arts and student organizations will also be well represented. Elmore County’s Maroon Machine and Holtville’s Green Machine will take part in marching competitions Saturday, while Wetumpka Choir will host its Fall Concert Tuesday evening. FFA students from Wetumpka will participate in the Ag Sunbelt Expo in Georgia, and Stanhope Elmore FFA students will travel to Indianapolis for leadership workshops. We are equally proud of the community connections being built by our students, including Stanhope Elmore hosting the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce Morning Brew and students from all four high schools participating in the ECEDA Unity Breakfast yesterday morning at 17 Springs.We are excited about everything happening throughout Elmore County Schools and appreciate the teachers, coaches, sponsors, families, and our community partners who make these opportunities possible. Good luck to all our students competing, performing, and representing their schools this week!The ECBOE meet this Tuesday afternoon for a work session at 4:30PM and the regularly scheduled board meeting at 5:00PM. We offer our gratitude and congratulations to Brian Ward, our District 6 outgoing board member, and his service to Elmore County students.
