Call Out for September 4, 2026

Good afternoon, Elmore County! This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools. As we head into Labor Day weekend, students and staff across the district are reminded that Monday is a Labor Day holiday- all Elmore County Schools will be closed. We hope everyone enjoys a safe relaxing holiday weekend. Families should also note that progress reports will be distributed through ParentSquare to all students next week.Football action continues across the district with several exciting matchups. ECHS will travel to Marbury High School tonight for an important region contest, while HHS will travel east to take on the Tallassee Tigers. SEHS will host Russell County, and WHS will host Rehobeth in its first home game of the season. Looking ahead, the annual rivalry game between the Elmore County Panthers and the Holtville Bulldogs has been moved next Thursday night, September 10 at Boykin Chapman Field.Our flag football programs are off to outstanding starts this season. HHS Flag Football takes on the Marbury Bulldogs at home next Wednesday; Elmore County High School opened its season with an impressive 34-0 victory over Greenville and is 2-0, while Stanhope Elmore High School remains undefeated with a 4-0 record. WHS plays at Russell County Tuesday night and host Prattville in their first home game next Thursday night.HHS Volleyball travels to Marbury for a big area game next Thursday at 5:30 and WHS Varsity, JV, and Redland middle school volleyball teams are all traveling to Foley for a big Labor Day tournament. Safe travels and good luck ladies!The Wetumpka High School NERDS team will conduct the Wetumpka Weather Balloon Launch at Hohenberg Field next Friday, September 11. This exciting STEM project showcases student learning and innovation while providing a unique hands-on educational experience that includes tracking the balloon as it travels over 60 miles from the launch site, locating, retrieving and analyzing all the data collected on the attached instruments. A threatening post, even as a joke, is illegal. Schools and law enforcement take all threats seriously. Talk to your kids about what they see online. Don't repost or share threatening content.
