CAREER TOUR: Club Members explored careers in the dental field during a tour of the Dental Clinic at Bridge Community Health Clinic!

A special thank you to Ryan Fisher, Dental Clinic Manager, for providing an informative and engaging tour. Ryan introduced our members to the many career opportunities available in dentistry, while also explaining the education and training requirements for each career path.

Students also enjoyed a hands-on demonstration from one of the clinic’s dental hygienists, who taught them the proper techniques for brushing and flossing to maintain good oral health, and each member received free toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss to help put their new knowledge into practice!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Teens are invited to come and browse the selection of gently used formal wear, available to borrow at NO COST! Dresses, suits and accessories can be tried on for the perfect look and fit. Borrowed Boutique will be open on Friday, September 18th from 3:00 - 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 pm. at the Caroline S. Mark Site, 1710 N. 2nd Street.

CELEBRITY CHAT: Club members recently had the opportunity to meet with Patience Szutkowski, owner of Premier Portraits by Patience, for an inspiring Celebrity Chat about careers in photography.

Patience shared her journey of turning a hobby into a successful business and discussed the many opportunities within the photography field. She also demonstrated how photographers use their equipment in different ways to capture the perfect shot and talked about the differences between scenic and portrait photography.

Members learned the importance of finding their niche, pursuing their passions, and building skills over time. Thank you, Patience, for sharing your experience and giving our members an inside look at a career in photography!

CELEBRITY CHAT: Earlier this month, Club Members were visited by Master Sergeant (MSG) Alex Kaye and members of his team, who shared their personal experiences serving in the United States Army. They talked about why they chose to join and what military life has been like for them.

Members learned about the many career opportunities available in the U.S. Army, had common myths about military service addressed, and asked questions about the different branches of the U.S. military.

The visit concluded with an exciting opportunity to see a U.S. Army Humvee up close and explore some of the gear and equipment used by service members.
Thank you to MSG Alex Kaye and his team for taking the time to educate and inspire our members while providing a firsthand look at military service and career opportunities in the Army!

CAREER TOUR: Teen Center members visited Wildwood Park & Zoo and met with Zoo Manager Kyle Kirk to learn about careers in zoology and animal care. Members discovered that zookeepers do much more than feed animals. They help maintain habitats, prepare specialized diets, provide enrichment activities, and ensure animals stay healthy and safe.

A highlight of the visit was the Bear Enrichment Tour, where members got an up-close look at the bear habitat, watched the bears cross the bear bridge, and learned how zookeepers create engaging environments for the animals.
