Mind/Body Therapist.
Shifts:
· The primary operating hours are Monday through Friday 0730 – 1800 (7:30 PM to 6:00 PM).
· Alternative work schedules are permissible so long as they are approved by the department and meet department requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Degree/Education: Possess a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university
· Experience: Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more mind-body practices, such as yoga, Healing Touch, Reiki, mindfulness-based stress reduction or art therapy, massage therapy within the preceding 5 years; possess knowledge and experience in the relationship between medical, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), and psychological aspects of health and disease; possess knowledge and experience in complementary and alternative medicine as related to behavioral change.
· Licensure: Possess appropriate qualifications and licenses for the various mind-body practices (e.g. Yoga: 200-hour teacher training program, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT); Massage Therapy: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), national certification board and state licensure, etc.)
Core Duties:
· Develop treatment plans based upon study of clinical records, the medical prescription, or physician's referral.
· Determine patient's interest, attitude, and ability through interview, testing, and observation.
· Administer established professional treatment procedure; teaches and guides patients in utilizing the treatment activities of the specialized field of therapy.
· Evaluate treatment performed, and the condition, reaction, and progress of patient.
· Provide consultation services for members of the MTF staff for purposes of specialty area training.
· Maintain accurate clinical records and receiving request for consultations and laboratory work of specific patients. The Mind-Body Therapist shall complete medical charting within 72 hours of patient visit IAW with JC guidelines.
· When necessary provide a Statement on Evaluation of Fitness IAW AR-40-501 and provide timely completion of Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) dictation and paperwork.
