We are currently recruiting for a Janitor & Cleaner/Custodian for one of our clients located in St. Augustine. This 40 hour per week position pays $12.50 per hour and requires a pre-employment criminal background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
ATHENA Consulting is an award-winning staffing firm serving state and local governments. We are currently recruiting for a Janitor/Cleaners position for one our clients in St. Augustine, FL.
Summary
Hours 7am to 5pm
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms; requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties; gather and empty trash; dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors, uses cleaning solutions, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power
equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors, fixtures and personal safety.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Tends, cleans, adjusts and services furnaces, air conditioners, boilers and building heating and cooling systems; notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating
systems; services and repairs cleaning and maintenance equipment and machinery; performs routine minor painting, plumbing, electrical, and related activities.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Mows and trims shrubbery and lawns, using power mowers and hand and power trimmers, clears debris from grounds, sprays insecticides and fumigants to prevent rodent infestation.
• Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events & social functions.
• Perform related work as required or assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• High school diploma or GED
COMPENSATION: $ 12.50
