The Job Developers Alliance in Charles County recently selected employers to recognize for their commitment to employing people supported by agencies like ours.
One of the people we support, Kristi, nominated her employer Our Lady's Little Christians Preschool . See her nomination below. Congrats to Our Lady's Little Christians Preschool.
"I have chosen them for the award because they are very nice people that I work with. They are the only employer that I could work for and have more hours and days to work. I really like working there with the kids because they are so sweet to be around. They have an excellent program there and they are always organized. They have a good routine for the kids. I feel comfortable working there because I go there almost everyday. I have benefits from being there because I can learn how to be around the kids and how to interact with them. I also benefit from this job because I might be able to get another job somewhere else in this field and learn new skills. Working there also helps me with my college classes that I am taking for my certificate. I will also learn how the schedule of the day works and get comfortable with it. They encourage me by telling me what the next step is or by saying to me that I can do circle time or something like that. They also tell me to clean the tables or play with the children. If I am doing something wrong they tell me the right way to do it. They support me by helping me with my classes if I need any help from them."
