Is Agriculture economically important to Central Texas? In 2025 there were cash receipts from agriculture production in McLennan County of $228 million, there were 3,751 jobs in ag production AND 15,370 jobs in agribusiness.
If you expand your view to McLennan County and the surrounding six counties (Hill, Limestone, Falls, Bell, Coryell and Bosque) those cash receipts from ag production jump to $685 million. There were 23,606 jobs in ag production AND 35,650 jobs in agribusiness in those seven counties.
The total economic impact for the 7 county area is over $1.1 billion dollars. I would say agriculture is loud and proud when it comes to economic impact in Central Texas. Go Ag!
