The Hire Solution was founded as Wide Scope Personnel, when Luisa Buehler joined the company as General Manager.
The company’s focus became direct placement of office support personnel as its professional placement division downsized during the late ’70s.
Luisa’s job was to let existing clients know that the company could place administrative, secretarial, accounting and customer service candidates in addition to the professional based candidates they had been accustomed to hiring. The transition from professional to administrative moved successfully and quickly. The early ’80s brought a downturn in the economy that impacted the company – many clients didn’t need new employees, but they did need temporary help to meet deadlines and their customers’ expectations.
Luisa approached the business owner about creating a temporary division. Within a month, WISP Temporaries began placing temporary staff in their clients’ offices. As the economy strengthened, clients wanted to hire but liked the idea of ‘try before you buy’ and the concept of temp-to-hire was implemented.
The early ’90s brought another recession during which clients weren’t hiring from employment agencies but were posting ads on job boards. Luisa’s strong relationships with HR professionals gave her the idea that while companies were avoiding agency fees, they were spending money on lost time sloughing through the hundreds of resumes they would receive for their open positions. She developed a program called First Review™ which allowed the client to turn over the initial vetting of those resumes to the experienced recruiters at the company. Clients could use the First Review™ for an hourly rate to review the resumes against weighted criteria and conduct the initial phone screen using specific filter questions. The First Review™ process sorted the resumes and forwarded only the A class to the clients for their follow up. In 2002 Luisa bought the company, re- branded it as The Hire Solution Employment Corporation and moved the office from Hillside to Oakbrook Terrace. The new name promoted the culture at the company: to be the resource clients expect from a hiring partner.
The recession starting in 2007 created high unemployment, no new hiring and general chaos in most industries. As companies recovered and needed to fill hurriedly emptied jobs, Luisa saw a need for more comprehensive screening of candidates for their clients. The program, MatchworkMethod™, involves a renewed commitment to both clients and candidates to provide the match that avoids the tragedy of a wrong hire! This program expanded the initial steps of First Review™ by adding an in-depth phone screen, in person interview, computerized testing, and reference checking before the client was presented with the resume for their review.
The Hire Solution team diligently listens and responds with the intent to understand their clients’ situation and expectations. When the employment climate changes, The Hire Solution can adjust to clients’ circumstances and provide a tailored service.
