The board meeting yesterday did not go in our favor. We are deeply saddened by this choice. We pray this is the best interest for our students and schools. We will continue to serve our community and are looking for new clients daily! We want to thank you all for your support and encouragement!!!

For 25 years, Staffing Solutions has proudly provided temporary staffing for the Child Nutrition Department. During that time, we have consistently fulfilled our obligations to keep these roles 95–100% staffed—performance that exceeds industry standards and even typical school district norms.

We are the only locally owned and operated staffing company based in Vicksburg. We live here, we work here, our children and grandchildren attend these schools—and we pay taxes in this community. Our commitment has always gone beyond business—it has been about serving and investing in the place we call home. We have remained responsive, reliable, and competitively priced for the benefit of our students, schools, and district.

Today, we learned that the district has chosen to seek services from a company outside of Vicksburg—one with no direct investment in our community.

We would also like to note that this is the second time this bid has been issued for this school year. During the initial bid process, no other companies submitted proposals. Given that, we respectfully question whether additional companies were directly solicited during this second round and whether our pricing or proposal details may have been shared.

Additionally, VWSD currently owes our company over $150,000 in past-due invoices, with more than $100,000 of that amount being nearly or over a year old. Despite this, we have never charged late fees or interest, because we believed in supporting our local schools and maintaining a strong partnership.

We respectfully ask that, as this decision comes before you for approval tonight, you reconsider awarding this contract to an outside agency. We remain committed, capable, and deeply invested in the success of our schools and our community.

Finally, given the circumstances, we intend to further review and scrutinize the bid and award process to ensure it was conducted fairly, transparently, and in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

After 1 month of operating in our new software with the employee portal and online application process, we have experienced too many technical difficulties and will have to go back to our old process for the betterment of our clients and employees. If you have put in an online application, we will not have access to any of it after Friday. Please come by our office and put one in through our paper process. Vicksburg Warren School District: Monday, January 26, 2026 – School and Offices Closed

VICKSBURG, Miss.

Due to unsafe road conditions and the potential for ice, the Vicksburg Warren School District will cancel school and close all district offices on Monday, January 26, 2026.

District officials are closely monitoring winter weather conditions and consulting with Warren County emergency officials to guide all decisions. A determination regarding school operations for Tuesday, January 27, 2026 will be announced by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26.

The safety of students, staff, and families remains the district’s top priority. Families and employees are encouraged to take necessary safety precautions, limit travel when possible, and monitor official district communication channels for updates.
The Vicksburg Warren School District appreciates the patience and cooperation of our families and community as we work to ensure safe and informed decisions during this winter weather event.
