Employers with 5 or more employees who do not already offer a retirement plan to employees may register now for this program. It's a good option and has no plan administration requirements for the small employer other than setting up the payroll deductions.

Employers need to be aware that if they mandate COVID-19 testing or getting the vaccine this is considered paid time, including travel to and from the testing/vaccine site. If employees choose to take time off from work to get tested or get their vaccine, that time is covered by the 2021 COVID-19 Supplemental Paid SIck Leave that became effective March 29. 2021. This includes time off needed if employees have any side effects from the vaccine. This time will count from 1/1/21 to 9/30/21 so employers may need to go back and check if any employees needed to use sick leave in January, February and March for these reasons.
