AK Drone - Unmanned Aerial Services and Sales

09/14/2026

Valdez STEM + Industry Day 2026 was a great reminder of why this work matters.

Students, educators, and industry leaders came together in Valdez to explore unmanned aviation, robotics, and the future of STEM careers in Alaska.

AKDRONE was honored to help support the event and demonstrate how drone technology is being used in real-world operations, from mapping and inspections to search and rescue and heavy-lift applications.

Events like this give students a chance to see the technology up close, ask questions, and connect classroom learning with real career pathways.

Thank you to T3 / University of Alaska Fairbanks, Alyeska Pipeline Services Co, Prince William Sound College, Valdez High School, City of Valdez, Alaska - Government, and all of the students, educators, and industry professionals who helped make the day a success.

We also appreciate our manufacturer partners, Wingtra and DJI Enterprise, for building tools that help demonstrate what is possible with modern unmanned systems.

This is how Alaska builds the next generation of innovators, pilots, engineers, and problem-solvers.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

Grateful for the men and women who serve our communities and keep our nation safe.

Last month we had the privilege of supporting the Mountain Rescue Association Conference in Juneau, demonstrating the DJI FlyCart 30, DJI Dock 3, WingtraRAY, and WingtraSAR AI.

Huge thanks to Pat Dryer, the Juneau Mountain Rescue Team, Kyle Nordfors, Volare Strategies, VOTIX, and all the incredible companies and SAR teams we met along the way.

On a personal note, this trip was extra special. My 15-year-old son is interning with our company, Seed Media, and edited this highlight reel after a 40-hour father-son road trip through Alaska, Canada, and the Alaska Marine Highway.

To everyone serving in the military, first responders, Search and Rescue, and emergency management, thank you.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

What a way to finish the Great Alaskan Wingtra Roadshow.

1,000+ miles. Countless flights. Great conversations.

Big takeaway?
Wingtra is hands down the best all-in-one mapping solution we’ve seen.

As Russel from Alaska DNR put it:
“It’s amazing how easy this system is to plan missions and collect high quality data…”

Simple. Efficient. Built for real work.

Huge thanks to everyone who came out, and to the Wingtra team for making it happen.

Missed the roadshow? Reach out and we’ll get you a demo. www.akdrone.com

Solving million-dollar-a-day problems.

That’s what drones are doing in Alaska.

On our next roadshow stop this week, we got to bring that conversation to campus.

Sharing with students how drone technology is being used across the state to solve real problems. The kind that can cost industries a million dollars in a single day.

From infrastructure to natural resources, these aren’t just cool tools anymore.
They’re becoming essential Alaskan tools.

Huge thank you to Wasilla High School, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District, and Leslie Wangeman for organizing and hosting our stop on the Great Alaskan Wingtra Roadshow.

Always a good day when the next generation starts connecting the dots.

There’s more to this story. Stay tuned.

Wasilla, this stop hits home for us!

On Thursday, April 23, AKDRONE is honored to partner with Wasilla High School to bring the Great Alaskan Wingtra Roadshow right to their campus.

This is a great opportunity for local industry, construction, mining, oil and gas, surveying, and government to come see the latest in drone mapping technology and connect with the next generation of UAV pilots right here in the Mat-Su.

Watch a live WingtraRAY demo. Meet our field team. See what survey-grade mapping looks like from a Swiss-engineered, NDAA-compliant platform built for real Alaska conditions.

And see the students of Wasilla High on the flight line alongside Alaska professionals.

Huge thanks to Wasilla High School for opening their campus and making this happen. 🙌
