Position Summary:

As our Production Supervisor you will be based in the East Rutherford, NJ plant and will report to the Plant Manager. This position will focus on providing leadership to the hourly production and sanitation staff to achieve daily production goals. The Production Supervisor is part of a team of shift supervisors who work together to accomplish and maintain high levels of performance and quality in the food manufacturing facility. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, consistency and people development.

Duties:

- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain supervisors to ensure production is on schedule

- Supervise all aspects of the production and sanitation processes and support master GMP and

sanitation list

- Provide quality audit support and communicate quality assurance needs

- Assign personnel to specific jobs

- Develop and establish defined goals and achieve those results with the plant workforce

- Identify high performance individuals and help with succession planning

- Ensure goals are met safely and that workforce is operating within safety guidelines

- Insure correct materials are used in the manufacturing process and that standard operational

procedures are being followed

- Inspect equipment for cleanliness

- Supervise the Mixing and machine operators and packers in all aspects of their duties

- Perform additional tasks as required to accomplish goals

Education:

- Two plus (2+) years in a Manufacturing Supervisor role within the food industry

- Ability to motivate and instruct employees as well as administer discipline as necessary

- An understanding of union rules and policies and lead a union workforce

- Strong food processing, GMP and OSHA knowledge

- Knowledge of ERP and ADP systems

- Willingness to work second or third shift with occasional weekend shifts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of warehouse janitorial needs
- Perform cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, scrubbing floors, spider webs, washing walls and glass, removing plastics and cardboard.
- Performing routine maintenance activities and notifying management of need for repairs.
- Trouble shoot and problem solving
- Janitor must promote a safe work environment through personal actions; identify any safety concerns as well as cost saving opportunities
- Janitor must show a high level of responsibility
- Follow instructions for safely operating equipment
- Have an understandable knowledge of the Operators Manual
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized work area at all times.
- Must be flexible and able to work any shift in support of business needs
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimal Requirements:
- Ability to work independently
- Strong commitment to SAFETY
- Knowledge of MSDS
- Knowledge of janitorial duties.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, and work with difficult individuals or task assignments
- Knowledge of warehouse operations
- This position requires associates to follow MHE Operations and Safe Driving practices, Safe Lifting, No Contact Policy, MHE Check out Process, and any other safety rules or policies.
- Good communication skills
