Get to know your Agent, Kurt Hantwerker
Bringing extensive knowledge of Real Estate, Tulsa business and people skills; Kurt’s talents stem from a colorful and business filled life. Real Estate was a natural for him when he made the decision to switch careers. Kurt is a self-described “education junkie”. He teaches Real Estate Technology and other subjects to the almost 200 agents in his offices.
He enjoys teaching almost as much as learning. Training as a professional pilot has helped him deal with any situation in a calm and resourceful manner. Serving on Keller William’s Agent Leadership Council allows him to influence the direction of the company and assist newer agents starting their careers in Real Estate. Tulsa, Jenks and Broken Arrow are the home centers of his business; however client networking has allowed Kurt to be successful in the surrounding communities as well. Collinsville, Owasso, Sperry and even as far North as Talala to the West Sapulpa and Sand Springs as well as South to Bixby and Glenpool and further. Combining true personal customer service with the latest in technology is key to Real Estate in today’s markets. “Technology is an absolute in today’s market, but you cannot let it get in the way of knowing your clients” Kurt said, at a recent training event. Friends and clients (many of whom are in both categories) agree that one of Kurt’s best assets is his ability to relate to others and determine what his clients want and need. He feels that too many times a Real Estate transaction is scary or intimidating. His goal is to make his clients as educated and comfortable as possible. Living in South Tulsa, Kurt has an adult son Kyle, a teenage son Cameron, and an incredibly understanding wife Donna. “She not only puts up with me, but did not totally think I was crazy when I decide to enter the Real Estate market when it was at its lowest point several years ago”, he said. Kurt’s clients are about 50% residential buyers and sellers, what you would consider “normal” Real Estate transactions (there is no such thing!). The other 50% is comprised of investors, some buying to hold as rental properties, some buying to flip and others liquidating property. Buying for the investors has exposed Kurt to almost every type of REO property imaginable. He is the “Go To” guy in the office for information about properties for sale by HUD, Fannie Mae, Freddie mac, etc.
