Compass Trip travel dump! Last week, the crew visited Louisville, Kentucky for some adventures and time to connect. This year's adventures included visiting the legendary Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, learning how Bourbon is made at Angel's Envy Distillery, and a delicious meal at Proof on Main, one of the most unique restaurants in Louisville.

This trip isn't only about the adventures; we're stoked to celebrate Ethan Long as our 2026 Compass Award Winner! 🎉 Also front and center is PG's culture - we come together to pulse check what's going well, what we're seeing and hearing from within our community, and what needs to be worked on.

As Bobby shared in his recent recap - the direction we're going is more important than the time it takes to get there. We're truly lucky to be surrounded by people who exemplify our values through their leadership and guide our path forward 🧭

As we close Hispanic Heritage Month, we are proud to see our leadership featured in Transformationists 2026, a series from Hispanic Executive honoring Latino founders, investors, authors, and speakers whose impact reaches far beyond their own companies.

At Populus Group, we believe everyone deserves an opportunity to succeed. This series recognizes leaders who built something worth building and then turned around to give the playbook away, teaching ownership, communication, and the consistency that turns ambition into legacy. We are grateful to be part of it!

Congrats to our recent New Leader Timeline graduate, Ashley LaClair 🎉

Ashley's biggest takeaway was learning the power in asking questions. Rather than providing an answer right away, she coaches her team through a solution, encouraging independence through problem-solving.

Her leaders shared that Ashley brings a combination of curiosity, resilience, and genuine care for people that strengthens her leadership approach.

From October 25-28, we’ll be at the NMSDC Annual Conference & Exchange connecting with corporate members, suppliers, and fellow MBEs around this year’s theme: driving growth for shared prosperity.

This conference is always one of our favorite weeks of the year. It’s a few days of real conversations with business owners and procurement leaders who are building something together, and we always leave with new ideas and new friends.

Reem knows what it’s like to build a career in a new country. Now she helps foreign national contractors do the same.

Born in Baghdad, Reem spent seven years in Syria before moving to the U.S. in 2010 and learning English. Four years into her time at PG, she was just promoted to Talent Specialist II on our Foreign National team, where she partners with sellers and brings firsthand understanding to every contractor she supports.

Her best career advice? Focus on building relationships, not just completing tasks. Strong relationships create opportunities, build trust, and help you grow.

Congratulations to our Q3 Trailblazer Award winner, Klaudia Borowska! 🏆

Klaudia has been with PG since 2018 and has grown her career across multiple areas of the business along the way. When asked what being a Trailblazer means to her, she kept it real: "Being a trailblazer isn't necessarily about having all the answers. It's about being willing to ask questions, take initiative, and keep moving forward even when the path is bumpy. No trail gets blazed without at least 20 follow-up questions!"
