Laser Operator (CNC) $23 - $25/hour + OT (Portland)

Portland based Steel Manufacturer is seeking Machine Operators. Company is located in NW Industrial area and is willing to train those seeking a career as a CNC operator.

Description
The candidate will operate a high-powered cutting to cut, punch, or stamp steel components.

What you can expect to do day to day:
• Set up and operate equipment to specifications
• Loading material for job runs
• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance
• Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cuts/punches, or dimensions and tolerances
• Maintain shop area, tools, and other equipment

Requirements:
• Have reliable and predictable attendance
• Be self-motivated and self-directed
• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn to operate machine controls.
• Ability to read and understand written directions and drawings
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., stand on feet for 8 or more hours, work in hot/cold environment
• Must be an independent worker who can be given tasks to complete without constant supervision after initial training
• Has worked with powered hand tools
• Has worked with metal, even as a hobby
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and safety

Strongly Preferred:
• Has worked with computer controlled (CNC) equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

• Moving offices, production facilities, and various other businesses into new locations
• Inventory of furniture/contents Loading and unloading of trucks from warehouse and manufacturing facilities
• Preparing materials for jobs
• Inspect content/furniture prior to moving
• Cleaning of contents when necessary
• Any other related duties as assigned by management
