May is Mental Health Awareness Month and one of the most powerful things an organization can do is model what it preaches.

Memorial Day is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy, the ability to build careers, communities, and companies rooted in our values, were made possible by those who gave everything.

At livingHR, we believe work should be human. And honoring the humans who sacrificed so much feels like the most fitting way to mark this day.

livingHR is proud to welcome Farrell Redwine back to our organization as our new Chief People Officer. Farrell joins in a CPO in Residence and Strategic Advisor capacity, bringing more than 30 years of executive people leadership across financial services, retail, energy, media, and technology, spanning North America, the UK, and Asia Pacific. She has held senior roles at some of the world's most recognized organizations, including Nordstrom, AOL Time Warner, Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers, and ExxonMobil.

In her role, Farrell will serve as a hands-on strategic partner to our clients, a thought leader on national stages, and a key voice in shaping the future of the people function.

Meet Avery Peters, Intern at livingHR! Avery has completed rotations across Marketing, People Operations, and Recruiting, gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of the business. From supporting content strategy and email campaigns to learning the ins and outs of talent acquisition and the employee lifecycle, she has jumped in wherever needed and continues to support our marketing team with creativity and enthusiasm.

Avery is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where she earned her degree in Communication with a minor in Marketing. She also served as President of her club field hockey team, building leadership skills and a strong sense of community along the way.

Her superpower? Curiosity. Avery is always asking questions, digging deeper, and wanting to understand the “why,” bringing fresh perspective and a love of learning to every project.

We’re proud to have Avery’s curiosity, creativity, and positive energy on the livingHR team!

On May 5, 2009, livingHR opened its doors with one belief: that when people thrive, organizations thrive.

That belief has shaped everything. The clients we have partnered with. The teams we have helped build. The cultures we have helped transform. Seventeen years of showing up for organizations at their most important moments, and being trusted to do the work that actually moves people forward.

None of it happens without this team.

To every livingHR team member, past and present: you are the reason this work is meaningful. The way you show up for each other and for our clients is something we do not take for granted. Thank you, genuinely, for being part of this.

As we begin Black History Month, we take time to honor Black history, culture, and contributions and to reflect on the work still ahead.

This year’s theme, A Century of Black History Commemorations, marks 100 years of intentional efforts to preserve, elevate, and teach Black history. First established in 1926 by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, this milestone recognizes generations of leadership, creativity, and advocacy that continue to shape our workplaces and communities.

At livingHR, we celebrate this legacy and reflect on the progress, contributions, and resilience of Black leaders in the workplace and beyond. We see this moment as both a celebration and a responsibility to continue building equitable, inclusive workplaces where every voice is valued.

Meet Hali Farney, Sr. Manager of Client Experience at livingHR! Hali provides interim fractional HR support for our clients, helping them build great teams and smooth, people-centered operations. From recruiting and hiring to culture work and change management, she loves jumping in where needed, solving problems, and making sure people feel supported every step of the way, always with heart and intention.

With 10+ years of HR experience, Hali brings deep expertise across talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development. She has led HR operations for 190+ employees across multiple sites, overseeing payroll, benefits, and compliance, and is especially passionate about partnering with leaders on culture, change management, and post-acquisition integration. Hali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is a Certified Resume Writer.

We’re proud to have Hali’s heart, grit, and hands-on leadership on the livingHR team!
