Happy 5th workiversary to Donny Cheatham! ๐ŸŽ‰

Donny wears a lot of digital hats at QABS. Social media, content creation, photography, websites, programmatic advertising, event promotion, strategy, and more all fall into his world.

He works with our clients to keep their online presence active, their members informed, and their meetings and events visible. He also keeps a close eye on what is changing in digital marketing and technology, including AI, so we can keep learning and adjusting along the way.

Weโ€™re glad to have his creativity, curiosity, and digital know-how on the team.

Happy 5 years, Donny! ๐Ÿ‘

How much should your board know about AI and cybersecurity?

More than they probably needed to know a few years ago.

Associations Now recently covered reports showing that AI has moved high on board agendas, alongside cybersecurity and geopolitical concerns. Directors are even asking whether the speed of AI is beginning to outpace traditional governance models.

Association boards do not need to know every technical detail. But they do need to be asking good questions, understanding where organizational risk lives, and staying involved as new technology changes how work gets done.

This is a timely read for association executives and board leaders:

Happy 24th workiversary to Kelley Field! ๐ŸŽ‰

Twenty-four years with QABS means Kelley has seen a lot, supported a lot, and probably solved more behind-the-scenes association puzzles than we could count.

As our Associate Director, Kelley works across communications, membership, finances, meeting planning, and board facilitation. She also brings more than 25 years of association management experience and holds both the Certified Meeting Professionalยฎ and Cvent Certified Event Management Professional credentials.

That kind of experience is hard to replace, and weโ€™re grateful for the steady knowledge, flexibility, and commitment Kelley brings to our clients and our team.

Happy 24 years, Kelley! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ Q&A Series ๐ŸŒŸ

โ“ Do AMCs offer specialized skills?

Yes, and that's one of the biggest advantages of partnering with an AMC.

Associations often need expertise in areas like membership, meeting planning, marketing, communications, finance, sponsorships, technology, and governance. Hiring a full-time specialist for every role isn't realistic for many organizations.

An AMC gives you access to professionals with different areas of expertise, so you have the right people supporting your association when you need them.

It's like having an experienced team instead of relying on one person to do it all.

Have questions about what an AMC can help with? We'd love to hear them.

Happy Birthday to Rick Dungey! ๐ŸŽ‰

Rick wears a lot of hats at QABS, and two of them come with a whole lot of Christmas spirit.

As Executive Director of the National Christmas Tree Association, he helps support the farm-grown Christmas tree industry and the network of growers, state and regional associations, and related businesses that make up the real Christmas tree community. NCTA represents more than 700 active member farms and 4,000+ affiliated businesses, with a mission focused on protecting and advocating for the industry.

He also serves as Executive Director of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, home of Trees for Troops. The program brings free, farm-grown Christmas trees to service members and military families, with more than 347,000 trees provided since the program began in 2005.

That is a lot of coordination, communication, people, and moving pieces, which fits Rick pretty well.

Weโ€™re glad to have him on the QABS team. Happy Birthday, Rick! ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ„

In a time when trust in many institutions is slipping, nonprofits are holding their ground.

A new survey highlighted by Associations Now found that 56% of Americans trust nonprofits to do the right thing, placing the sector ahead of several other major institutions.

That says a lot about the relationship nonprofits build with the people and communities they serve.

It also comes with responsibility. Trust has to be maintained through transparency, good communication, and staying focused on the mission and the people behind it.

Definitely worth a read from Associations Now:

Happy 6th workiversary to KT! ๐ŸŽ‰

Kelly Tuttle has been part of the QABS team for six years, bringing more than 31 years of hospitality experience, a strong community network, and a real talent for keeping all those behind-the-scenes details moving.

KT is the kind of person who can help prepare for meetings big and small, keep things organized, support the people around her, and still bring good energy to the room.

Weโ€™re lucky to have her on the team and very happy to celebrate this milestone with her.

Happy 6 years, KT! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ : Saint Louis Attractions Association ๐ŸŒŸ

The visitor experience starts long before someone walks through the front gate. It starts with the people who make St. Louis feel welcoming, memorable, and worth exploring. โœจ

Since 1987, SLAA has brought together attractions, hospitality groups, tour companies, restaurants, and tourism partners across the region. Their work helps strengthen the experiences that make St. Louis special.

They also invest in the future of the industry through the Carole Moody Scholarship, supporting students pursuing tourism and hospitality careers.
