American Job Center - St. Louis County The Missouri Career Centers - Saint Louis County (i.e. North Oaks and Florissant) are part of a nationally recognized, workforce development system.

Trained professionals offer job seekers employment assistance, workshops, training, career counseling and veteran services. Job seekers must be registered in Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs prior to securing services. The Business Service Group offers the business sector value-added recruitment, employment and downsizing/layoff assistance. All services are offered at no fee. Governance of

the Missouri Career Centers - Saint Louis County is provided by the Workforce Investment Board comprised of corporate/community leaders representing a diverse, cross-section of Saint Louis County. Under the guidance of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, the Board is responsible for defining the local Workforce Development system - its role, overall direction and oversight. The Missouri Career Centers - Saint Louis County - North Oaks is funded by the United States Department of Labor and the Missouri State Division of Workforce Development through a grant to Saint Louis County Department of Human Services.
