AI is already changing how work gets done, but the rules governing that transformation are still being written. In her latest article, Christine Nichlos, CEO of People Science and Hiregate, explores the roles government, employers and workers should play in shaping AI policy and preparing for its impact on the workforce.

The question may not simply be, “Who should regulate AI?” It may be, “Who needs to be at the table to get it right?”

We'd love to hear your perspective.

AI regulation is taking shape. Explore why government, employers, and workers all need a voice in decisions affecting jobs and the future of work.

Labor Day exists because people fought for the right to be treated as more than output.

That's not just a history lesson. It's a good filter for how we think about talent acquisition. Every process improvement, every piece of advice we give, every strategy session comes back to one question: are we building something that actually serves the people in it?

Today we're pausing to appreciate the workers who make every organization run, and the TA leaders working to make sure those workers are seen, supported, and set up to do their best work.

Happy Labor Day, from all of us at People Science.

Episode 8 of Talent Architects is live!

Bill Gates raised two big questions last week: should some jobs stay permanently human? And should companies pay a tax on automation? Christine Nichlos, Jessica Oberto, and Lindsey Roundtree dig into both, plus the real cost problem nobody's talking about yet, AI tokens.

Happy Talent Acquisition Day!

Behind every great hire is a talent acquisition professional who listened, advised, challenged assumptions, solved problems and kept the process moving.

Talent Acquisition is about far more than filling requisitions. It’s about connecting business strategy with human potential, creating candidate experiences that build trust and helping organizations prepare for what comes next.

At People Science, we’re proud to work alongside the recruiters, sourcers, coordinators, operations professionals and TA leaders who bring insight, resilience, creativity and care to this work every day.

To everyone helping shape how people and organizations find each other: thank you. Today, we celebrate you!

Save $2M for $20K with AI?

"I've seen one piece of software save a company almost $2 million. The cost of that was about $20,000 a year." Christine Nichlos on the kind of ROI that's possible when AI gets applied to a broken process, and why the gap is too big to keep ignoring.

AI can speed up the process and spot patterns humans would take hours to find. It can even help catch bias we didn't know we had. But if the system itself was trained on biased data, speed just gets you to the wrong answer faster, especially when a platform like Reddit makes up roughly 40% of that training data. That's why the final call still needs to be a human one.

Christine and Jessica opened up this exact conversation on the last episode of Talent Architects: https://hubs.ly/Q04vYnY80

We've been writing more on this —https://hubs.ly/Q04vYSfl0

Christine asked ChatGPT to show her a successful CEO. Then asked again, this time removing her own input and bias from the prompt.

Two completely different results.

So how did the AI land there without her steering it? Christine breaks down where the data actually comes from, and the picture is not as neutral as "AI generated" makes it sound.

This is exactly why the AI versus human bias conversation matters. The bias does not disappear when a human leaves the seat: it just moves upstream into the training data.
