Ability Employment Services got its start because our founder, Ty Lingo, was passionate about offering hope to families who have a child with a disability.

Ty's own sister was born with a disability called Angelman’s Syndrome and growing up, Ty saw the challenges his parents faced trying to plan for her future.

He also knew the joy and freedom his family experienced when the community offered support that enabled his sister to flourish.

Ty's dream became to “pay it forward” and he founded Ability Employment Services – an organization that matches individuals who have a disability with employers who need their skills. Through employment, these workers gain independence and purpose and employers gain capable, loyal employees.

Nine years later, Ability has over 300 clients working at companies throughout the Inland Northwest. We have the highest disability placement rate in Spokane.
