Farmers don’t work 9 to 5.

They work whatever hours the weather, the herd, and the harvest demand. 3 a.m. calvings. Sixteen hour days during planting. Fixing equipment in a field with a headlamp because the crop won’t wait for daylight.

And after all that, there’s still no guarantee.

A drought, a flood, a market crash, a policy change made by someone who’s never set foot on a farm, and a year of work can amount to nothing. Livestock get sick. Crops fail. None of it is fully in their control, and none of it comes with a safety net.

That kind of pressure, financial, physical, and constant, is something most people never have to carry. It’s also part of why farmers are 3.5 times more likely to die by su***de than the general population.

This isn’t a stat to scroll past. It’s a call to check on your local farmer, your rancher neighbor, the guy at the feed store who seems a little more tired than usual.

If you’re struggling, you are not alone. Call or text 988 anytime.

We had a great turn out from White County at Summer Conference where we toured Anderson Meats and Processing, heard from amazing speakers, participated in the fun run, competed in Ag Olympics, and ate our weight in ice cream. It was a great weekend ✨
