Job Duties :
HOURS WILL VARY DEPENDING ON WORKLOAD, HOURS PER DAY RANGE FROM 8-11 HOURS
MANAGER WILL REVIEW DQ FILE AND INTERVIEW
CDL Truck Drivers will be handling local truckload deliveries, primarily drop & hook, no touch freight. They will be picking up trailers at a customer facility and delivering them to the plant daily, as well as delivering trailers with repaired pallets to the customers facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver and pick up tractor-trailers containing wooden pallets within certain miles
Expected to make a certain number of deliveries, depending on location
Expected to work 50+ hours/week
The CDL Truck Driver will be driving automatic trucks; 53? dry vans and/or flatbeds, depending on the location
Complete paperwork at customer site verifying delivery and retrieval of pallets
Inspect truck for defects before and after trips
Submit reports after trips indicating truck conditions
Maintain driver log through ELD according to U.S. DOT (FMSCA) regulations in locations where required
Operate trucks with extreme care, adhere to company procedures and safety regulations at all times
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50-75 pound and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot and stand for entire shift of varying lengths in time
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 23 years of age
Must Possess a valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
Must pass a DOT Physical from a nationally registered DOT approved physician
Has not ever been disqualified to drive
Can successfully complete a DOT road test
PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years. Any score above 10 will require approval from the 48forty Solutions Team
No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
1-year CDL-A driving experience within past 3 years
Experience in logistics, warehouse, OTR, Over-the-Road, CDL Class A License, Truck and Trailer, preferred
Knowledge of commercial driving regulations
Ability to maneuver vehicle in difficult situations such as narrow passageways
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
The employee is frequently required to sit, talk hear, walk and use hands to handle, feel and reach.
The noise level in the work environment depends on location.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision.
Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
