Dear Parents of High School Juniors and Seniors, it is the time of year when Military Recruiters ramp up and begin to cold call to ask about your kids plans after high school.

So let me explain, I as a recruiter am required to do this, it’s not my favorite thing to do believe me much like you I hate calls in the evening. As a National Guard Recruiter and a member of our community I only want one thing and that is to offer kids the opportunity to go to college and be successful. Not all kids need assistance to do this but there are many that do.

I care about the kids in this community and will do everything in my power to make sure they make a beneficial choice that will hopefully keep them out of harms way. The National Guard is the only branch that offers Federal and State Tuition which is $11,000/year for just going to basic training, learning a trade, and drilling here in the Great State of WV just 39 days a year.

So if I call you please just understand I’m only calling because I want to ensure every young Student has the option to walk through the doors of higher education or step into a trades job with experience and quality training. If it’s not of interest to you or your child I understand and I will place a note stating “not interested please do not contact” so you don’t receive a call down the road.
