An incredible day was had yesterday out in nature as some of our participants visited Bernheim Forest and Arboretum.

From exploring scenic trails to taking in the beauty of the arboretum, the day was filled with fresh air, movement, and meaningful moments.

Our group especially enjoyed seeing the famous Forest Giants and spending time together surrounded by nature, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
Experiences like this are so important. They promote independence, encourage social interaction, and give our participants the opportunity to engage with the world around them in new and exciting ways. Whether it was walking the trails, laughing with friends, or simply enjoying the peaceful environment, every moment mattered.

Over the past year, Hope of KY has experienced an incredible amount of growth, change, and progress. What we have accomplished in such a short time is something to truly be proud of.

We have strengthened our programs, expanded our services, built a more structured foundation, and continued to show up every single day for the individuals we support. We’ve worked through challenges, faced difficult situations head-on, and remained committed to improving not just our agency, but the lives of those we serve.

Are we exactly where we want to be? No, and that’s okay. Because what matters is that we are putting in the work every single day to get there. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and real change takes consistency, dedication, and a team that refuses to give up.

We are not perfect, but we are progressing, and we are just getting started.

Join Our Team

Hope of KY, a Supports for Community Living (SCL) provider serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support individuals in residential and community settings through person-centered, evidence-based behavioral services.

Position Overview

The Behavior Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) in compliance with requirements set forth by the Kentucky Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. This role ensures all behavioral interventions are least restrictive, data-driven, and aligned with person-centered practices.

Key Responsibilities
• Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and reassessments as required
• Develop, revise, and monitor Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
• Train DSPs, supervisors, and team members on BSP implementation
• Review behavioral data and adjust interventions accordingly
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings
• Provide guidance on crisis prevention and intervention strategies
• Ensure compliance with rights restrictions, human rights committee processes, and DDID standards
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation per Medicaid waiver requirements

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field
• Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (preferred) or eligibility to obtain
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Strong understanding of SCL waiver and DDID regulations
• Ability to effectively train and support staff in the field

• Community-based (SCL homes, day programs, and community locations)
• Travel within Somerset and surrounding counties required

All services are delivered in accordance with regulations established by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and DDID SCL waiver guidelines.
