For National Police Week, we want to honor and remember Sergeant Walter David Lowe Sr., who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on November 13th, 1979, when his police motorcycle was struck from behind by a drunk driver. Sergeant Lowe is one of the two officers our Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge is named after.

His sacrifice serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers faced by law enforcement officers every single day.

Rest in peace, Sergeant Walter David Lowe Sr.
Your watch is over, but your legacy endures.

We had a great time Saturday night letting the Old School Cops meet the New School Cops. We shared several stories, laughs, and made new memories together. Sherwood Police Department has always been a close knit department. This event shows that the family you make here is for life.

Heartbroken to hear of the loss of one of our brothers. Our condolences go out to the entire Sherwood Fire Department and Captain Estell’s family.

We are saddened to announce the passing of one of our own. Captain Estell leaves a huge hole in our department and will be missed everyday. Captain Estell was assigned to Squad 1 at Station 1 assigned to “B” Shift. Funeral arrangements are as followed:

We had such a great time Tuesday night at Battle of the Badges Tip-A-Cop. The community showed up and showed out. We appreciate everyone’s part in making this event so special.

Members of our Lodge worked together to help pass out food so that families can focus on each other and not have to worry about where their meal was going to come from.

We hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! Thank you, Sherwood, for supporting the Sherwood Police Department and working with us to keep our community safe!
