Last month, I had the honor of attending the Greater Cincinnati Business and Professional Women’s Organization (GCBPW) 110th Celebration Dinner at the historic Golden Lamb Restaurant, following an invitation from the organization’s president. It was a wonderful evening of connection, celebration, and recognition of the impact women continue to make in business and in our communities.

I had the pleasure of attending the Tell Her Story event today at Seasons 52. 💕✨

I came alone, but the event had a fun Selfie Challenge—if you came alone, you were encouraged to take a selfie with someone at the event or one of the presenters and tag them.

Well… challenge accepted! 😂📸

I came alone, but I definitely didn’t leave alone. I met some amazing women, exchanged business cards, made new connections, and walked away with some valuable financial insight. I’ll definitely be sharing some of those selfies from today!

The event gave me a fresh perspective on my financial journey and encouraged me to approach my finances with more confidence while building a healthier relationship with my money. One statement that really stuck with me was:
“Save your money, and your money will save you.”💯

I’m thankful to learn better ways to make my money work for me, rather than simply working for my money.

Today, Making A Difference Staffing had the honor of attending the Workforce Council Workforce Champion Awards Breakfast, where we were recognized as a nominee for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Although I didn’t take home the award, being nominated was an honor and recognition that I don’t take lightly. To be in a room surrounded by so many incredible people and organizations who are committed to making a difference in our workforce and our communities was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to all of the award winners and every nominee! Your dedication, passion, and commitment deserve to be celebrated! 👏🏾🎉❤️

Thank you to the Forest Park Branch Library, Peter💙, the African American Chamber of Commerce - The Pivot Baes😍💐, and everyone who showed up and contributed to such a meaningful experience.

This day was special!❤️

Truly a “you had to be there” type of experience. Great discussions and engagement. Meaningful connections were made, and there was an incredible exchange of knowledge and experiences among the entrepreneurs in the room.
The amazing Peter, also educated us on successful, well-known organizations that made major pivots throughout their professional growth journeys.

DID YOU KNOW? YouTube used to be a video dating site.

Hearing how some of these companies operated before their pivots was unbelievable. It was a powerful reminder that what we see today is often the result of a difficult decision to change direction, adapt, and think differently.

So I encourage everyone to:

Keep going. Keep learning. Keep building. And when it’s time—PIVOT.

We recently finalized our rebrand and had the opportunity to share our pivot/rebrand journey during a Small Business Pivot Program session at the Forest Park Branch Library.

Our message was simple: this rebrand is an evolution, NOT a reset. 🙌🏾🎉💐✨️

Years of staffing experience showed us the bigger opportunity—to connect staffing expertise with workforce development, employer needs, and individual opportunity.

That’s the heart of our pivot:💜

Turning Staffing Expertise into Workforce Success.

And our name says it all:

Making A Difference Staffing.

Because that’s exactly what we’re here to do‼️

Experience built the foundation.
The pivot expanded the vision.

Don't be afraid of the pivot.💡
Sometimes the pivot is the proof that you're paying attention. Focus on your strengths!

As I prepared our presentation for our Small Business Pivot Program Session and revisited our rebrand story, I cried.
Not because I regret the journey, but because I remember it.

📍I remember the uncertainty.
📍I remember the hard decisions.
📍I remember the moments when we had to question our strategy.
📍I remember realizing that working harder wasn't necessarily the answer—we needed to work differently.

Our pivot required us to become more aware of our business, our market, our opportunities, and ultimately, our vision.
It required us to think bigger while still being resilient enough to survive the present.

That experience taught me something I believe deeply:
ENTREPRENEURSHIP requires more than a great idea.

💡It requires the ability to adapt when the original plan no longer serves the vision.
💡It requires resilience when the results aren't immediate.
💡It requires humility to recognize when you need to change direction.
💡And it requires the courage to keep building when failure would be the easier option.

I believe entrepreneurship has to be in you because the journey will test you‼️

There will be seasons when your business doesn't look anything like the vision you started with.
That doesn't always mean the vision is wrong.
Sometimes it means the strategy needs to change.

Our rebrand and pivot have allowed us to experience outcomes today that we could not see when we were in the middle of uncertainty.🙌🏾
And that's why I'm so passionate about sharing our story.
NOT because we have everything figured out. But because we've lived through the uncomfortable part of the process—and we've learned that a pivot isn't necessarily a setback.

Sometimes a pivot is the very thing that positions your business for its next level.

To every entrepreneur currently evaluating your business: Ask yourself:
✨️What is working?
✨️What isn't working?
✨️What have I outgrown?
✨️What does my market need now?
✨️And what am I afraid to change?

Those questions may lead you somewhere unexpected. They may even lead you to your next breakthrough.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to share Making A Difference Staffing's story, learn from other entrepreneurs, and continue growing alongside people who understand that entrepreneurship is a journey of resilience, reinvention and often times simply THINKING BIGGER, and FAITH.

There were pivots I chose. And pivots I didn’t.

COVID was a pivot I didn’t choose.
Our rebrand was a pivot I recognized.

Both challenged us. Both required resilience. And both taught me something I believe every small business owner needs to hear:

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE WHAT YOU’VE ALREADY BUILT.

Sometimes the next chapter isn't about starting over.
