Grassroots Campaigns (GC) Seattle is an independent company that uses face-to-face outreach to rally average Americans behind important issues like civil liberties, environmental protection, LGBT equality, poverty and social justice. We fundraise, mobilize voters, and offer strategic consulting for charities, progressive political groups, and candidates, specializing in engaging citizens one-on-on
e in neighborhoods and high-traffic public venues. Grassroot’s tactics are time-tested. The wave of activism in recent years has reaffirmed that when enough ordinary people join together in support of important causes, we can create meaningful change in the world. And even in a time of rapidly advancing technology and massive corporate influence in politics, the most effective way to make that change is still by hitting the streets, talking to people, and getting them involved. That’s exactly what Grassroots has done, since a small group of seasoned activists founded the company in 2003. Grassroots Campaigns quickly became a prominent force in the progressive movement, known for running expansive field operations for the Democratic National Committee and MoveOn PAC during the 2004, 2006 and 2008 elections. Since our initial campaigns, we’ve expanded our work, partnering with groups like ACLU, Amnesty International, Planned Parenthood, and Oxfam America to conduct year-round outreach. In less than 10 years, we’ve played an important role in a historic presidential election, engaged thousands in the movement for LGBT equal rights, and fundraised hundreds of millions of dollars for worthy causes like international human rights. Grassroots Campaigns’ staff of veteran activists boasts more than 150 years of combined experience in organizing and fundraising. Passion for the issues drives us, but our work is anchored by strategic planning and a commitment to results. Our achievements include:
• Running successful electoral, ballot, legislative, corporate, small donor fundraising, and petition gathering campaigns.
• Organization building, recruiting over 2.5 million supporters for a variety of state and national groups.
• Running conferences ranging from a couple hundred to a couple thousand college students.
• Training thousands of professional organizers and campaign staff.
• Experience with over 40 groups including charity, advocacy, and political organizations on the national, regional, state, Congressional, local, and campus levels.
• Recruitment and training of thousands of volunteers, including 25,000 in our electoral efforts alone.
