🐾👗 SAA Alumni Alert!

Congratulations to Nyriel Saures, SAA Class of 2023, on earning national recognition as a recipient of the 2026 CFDA x Melvin and Monique Rodriguez Family Foundation Scholarship! Nyriel, now studying fashion design at SCAD, was awarded a $25,000 scholarship to support her continued education and professional development.

Her collection, From the Roots, uses fashion to explore Black hair as an expression of identity, culture, artistry, and self-expression. Nyriel drew inspiration from protective styles including braids, twists, and locs, transforming those influences into wearable art.

We are so proud to see an SAA alum receiving recognition on a national stage! 🌟

A huge thank you to SCAD for sharing this exciting news with us so we could celebrate Nyriel and her incredible accomplishment!

Interested Savannah Arts Academy juniors and seniors have an opportunity to take the ASVAB Career Test on October 1.

💻Required Materials: Please bring your charged, school-issued Chromebook on the day of testing

🚨Who Can Participate: Juniors and Seniors (students MUST be at 16 years old to participate)

📝Registration: Interested students should see Ms. Cooper, School Counselor, during lunch or between classes to sign up.

🎬 From SAA Film to Saturday Night Live! 🌟
Savannah Arts Academy Film students recently welcomed home one of their own—SAA Film alumnus Ben Marshall, comedian, writer, actor, and current cast member of Saturday Night Live!

Ben returned to Savannah and took time to give back to his alma mater, visiting with Film students and his former teacher, Mr. Beringson. He shared stories from his journey to SNL and the entertainment industry. Ben has worked alongside stars including Kevin Hart, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Jenna Ortega, Taylor Swift, Will Ferrell, and many others.

And Ben didn't come back alone! Joining him was longtime friend and fellow SAA graduate Parth Patel—making the visit an even more special homecoming. 🐾

There is something pretty incredible about today's SAA Film students getting advice from someone who once sat in those same classrooms, learned from the same teacher, and started developing his craft right here at Savannah Arts.

Savannah Arts Volleyball opened the season with a 2-0 start, earning wins over Statesboro and Lakeside!

The night was made even more special as Head Coach Lauren Lord earned the 250th win of her coaching career! We’re proud to celebrate this incredible career milestone with her. 👏
