My classmates and I in Senior Leaders Course had an opportunity to participate in Wreaths Across America at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. We took great pride in Honoring veterans and their families who sacrificed for our nation.

Each wreath is a symbol to remind us of the sacrifices and heroes who chose their country over self. It is a reminder that freedom isn’t free, and a debt of gratitude and respect is owed those who laid their lives on the line.

Wreaths Across America gave us an opportunity to laugh together, cry together, comfort one another and honor veterans that are dear to us.

The Specialist Corps has received some excellent NCOs and physician assistants. I had the privilege to attend the commissioning ceremony of these recent IPAP graduates.

My friend, now 1LT Jones, gave me the honor of delivering his first salute and he thanked me with the customary silver dollar.

Army Medicine wins again, as we continue to receive and retain the best America has to offer. I am thankful for their service and commitment to healthcare!

“Army medicine: best place to work, best place to practice, & the best place to receive care.”
