Every excuse a rep will ever give you is predictable. So say them out loud in the interview, before they’re hired.
Car problems. A family emergency. Being sick. Ask directly whether they’re that kind of person, and watch them promise you they aren’t. Then pull the offer back, you’re looking for the top three, you’ll let them know, and send them home without a job.
When the excuse arrives in week three, you’re not arguing. You’re referencing a conversation they already agreed to.
