Exciting News!

I'm proud to share that I've completed a foundational training course on Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) — deepening my understanding of how SSI and SSDI benefits work, and how employment and earned income can affect them.

As CEO and President of the Georgia Neurodivergent Chamber of Commerce (GANCC), this knowledge strengthens my ability to guide our community to the Georgia organizations and companies that support neurodivergent adults and their families in navigating employment decisions with confidence.

For anyone in Georgia who receives SSI or SSDI and wants free, one-on-one benefits counseling, here are the three WIPA providers serving our state:

Infinity Support Services LLC – serving Dekalb, Gwinnett, and Rockland Counties

Walton Options for Independent Living – Augusta area

Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) – All other counties

Executive function challenges are not a reflection of your intelligence or effort, but they can still create real friction at work and at home. Executive function is the control center that helps you get started, stay focused, manage emotions and energy, and follow things through.

This interactive online group coaching session is for working people or people looking for work who live with ADHD and other neurodivergent traits (diagnosed or strongly suspected) who are doing a lot and still feel like something is not working.

We will briefly map executive function using Thomas Brown’s model and related work, then shift into coaching-based conversations. Together, we look at what is happening in the real conditions of your work so you can name your own patterns as you in context, not you as a problem. Then you choose one realistic step (an ask, a shift in et in expectations, or a skill to build) to move tasks forward, easing self-pressure and mental churn.

Exciting News from Adaptable Driving!

Julia McVicker, MS, OTR/L, DRP is thrilled to announce that Adaptable Driving is now the exclusive Georgia provider of the Neurodiverse Driving Simulator, developed by the Frist Center for Autism and Innovation at Vanderbilt University.

This innovative simulator is designed to support neurodiverse individuals as they build the skills and confidence needed for safe, independent driving. Adaptable Driving team is honored to bring this cutting-edge technology to Georgia and look forward to helping more drivers achieve their goals.

Be the first in Georgia to learn more about this innovative simulator by attending our GANCC event at Adaptable Driving for our September networking event.

Julia is the owner and Driving Rehabilitation Professional and an Occupational Therapist. She explores current research, evidence-based tools, and practical strategies that help individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to pursue driving. She will discuss how to determine the right timing, pace, and pathway for each person's unique needs and goals.

Participants will learn about Adaptable Driving's comprehensive approach, which combines online learning for home study, community-based driving simulation, and individualized driving evaluations and training. As she examines how this model supports neurodiverse individuals in building driving skills, GANCC attendees will learn more about how she promotes safety, independence, and self-determination with new neurodivergent drivers as they gain more independence!

Did You Know You Can Received FREE Help?

Infinity Support Services serves Georgia Counties: Dekalb, Rockdale and Gwinnett.

They provide FREE individualized benefits counseling for Social Security beneficiaries who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or are working, are about to begin working or are actively seeking employment.

Infinity is a provider of SSA's WIPA (Work Incentives Planning and Assistance) Program in multiple states, including the three counties in Georgia.

Who is Eligible:
Anyone who receives Social Security disability benefits (SSI/SSDI) between age 14 and retirement age. Priority is given to anyone who:
is working,
has a job offer pending,
has had an interview in the past 30 days or an interview scheduled in the next 2 weeks
is a veteran, or
is a transition youth between the ages of 14-25 and interested in working

If you meet these requirements you are eligible to get FREE benefits planning services.

What the WIPA Program Does...
Verifies benefits: Checks exact details of your current Social Security, healthcare, and housing assistance.
Explains work incentives: Teaches special rules that let you earn money while keeping parts of your cash aid or medical cover.
Provides tailored plans: Delivers a written breakdown showing how a job or a raise changes your overall income.
Connects with resources: Links to local employment networks or state vocational programs

Funding is Now Available for Georgia Families!

Our GANCC Member, MapHabit is proud to be one of the first fully reimbursed assistive technology services approved by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). MapHabit is now available to many families across the state at no cost. Access is offered through multiple funding pathways, including the NOW/COMP Medicaid waivers—which support over 12,000 eligible individuals—and the Bobby Dodd Family Support services, a new option for community members with lower acuity needs who still benefit from cognitive support.
