Job Summary:
The Covid test collector will travel to clinical study participants homes to collect COVID-19 specimen samples. The day-to-day activities would include setting up a Zoom camera for remote monitoring, checking in participants, taking down demographic information, collecting and labeling specimens. A strong candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate with participants and with study personnel.
This position is temporary.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Confirm patient identity, appointment time, and assign label to specimen container
· Observation of collection of specimens via anterior nares swab
· Proper handling of testing materials and packing them for transport according to guidelines issued by the receiving laboratory.
· Daily cleaning/disinfecting of work areas and supplies
· Qualified candidates must understand how to perform nasal swab specimen collection without injury or complication to patients of all ages, including children
Candidate Requirements:
· Must have a medical background (such as EMT, MA, LPN, RN, etc)
· Must be reliable and dependable
· Must have experience with collecting COVID-19 samples
· Display compassionate, ethical, and professional demeanor
· Ability to understand and follow written guidelines.
· Knowledge of equipment used such as iPhone, and iPad apps for participant information and
specimen labeling.
· Ability to learn the procedure (anterior nares swabs) for obtaining patient samples and using that skill with minimal supervision.
· Ability to meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
