🏃‍♀️ Local 230 Family Running the NYC Marathon to Help End Alzheimer’s

On November 1, 2026, the wife of one of our Local 230 members will take on the New York City Marathon—26.2 miles with a purpose far greater than crossing the finish line.

She’ll be running as part of the Alzheimer’s Association Team, raising awareness and critical funds to support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

She has set a fundraising goal of $5,000, and we’re asking our Local 230 family, friends, and supporters to help her reach it.

Our union is more than our members—it’s our families and the community that stands alongside us. We’re proud to support her as she takes on this incredible challenge for an important cause.

This September, San Jose Fire Fighters Local 230 is proud to stand with the California Fire Service Task Force on Behavioral Health for the Su***de Prevention & Awareness Safety Stand Down.

The job asks a lot of us. We show up for people on their worst days, and sometimes we carry those experiences home with us.

Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health. Checking in on each other, recognizing when someone may be struggling, and being willing to ask for help are all part of taking care of our fire family.

No one in our fire family should struggle alone.

This month, we encourage every Local 230 member to take a moment to check in with your crew, your friends, your family—and yourself.

A huge thank you to our Local 230 members, friends, and family who came together to put on another amazing pancake breakfast for the annual Silicon Valley Pride Parade!

Events like this are about more than pancakes—they’re about showing up for our community, supporting one another, and celebrating what makes San José such a great place to live and serve.

We’re proud to stand alongside our friends, families, and community members and continue the tradition of bringing people together.
