Steve is just about to complete a four year tour with USDS and he is going to tell us what a day in the life of a software engineer at The US Digital Service is really like. Join him on July 25, Tuesday at 11 am Central Time in Plano Texas (or on zoom if you can't come in person) as we chat live with Steve.

As full time federal employees under the auspices of The White House we receive top pay, full benefits and a pension plan. Our tours are limited to four years but many of us go on to work in other federal agencies and our pension money continues to grow!

development companies in and around San Francisco. Before that for decades I
was in the Water Boiled & Hearth baked Bagel business
What led you to become a Digital Service Specialist at USDS?
oAfter twenty years of helping to staff software companies for profit, a
recruiter called me from USDS and explained the mission “To deliver better
government services to the American people through technology and
design.” I wanted to contribute to helping the American People
What is your day-to-day like as a Technical Recruiter with USDS?
oMy day consists of reaching out to all parts of the country seeking talented
software engineers, designers and product managers and sharing the USDS
story and mission
What is your favorite part of your job?
oMy favorite part of the job is when a prospective candidate starts working at
USDS, someone I found who had never even heard of USDS!
What’s your sales pitch for USDS?
oUSDS is the most challenging and most rewarding work that I have ever
done
